Back to dialup-Maryland creating 6% Computer Tech Tax? Part 1

The video below is an extended conversation from the WYPR radio show I host called "The Digital Cafe" by Mario Armstrong". The show is 4 minutes in length and airs 5:30pm Tuesdays during NPR show All Things Considered. This particular topic needed well beyond 4 minutes to discuss the details. So after the segment I sat down with Tom Loveland, Co-founder of the lobbying group "Maryland Computer Services Association" and CEO of Mind Over Machines a tech company in Maryland.

$100 million - Apple iPhone SDK and Austin Powers team up to rule the world

rrmvp32a.jpgHave you heard the new lottery announcement by ridiculously rich Kleiner Perkins. He's the Venture Capital firm behind Google, Amazon and Intuit. Well he's setting aside $100 million in venture capital to invest in companies creating applications and services for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch. As you may have heard Apple recently announced their SDK (software development kit). This kit will enable other companies to develop programs and software to run on the iPhone and iPod touch devices. While this will certainly garner major attention, who is following up to ensure his 'gold rush' announcement will follow thru all the way to $100,000,000? We will contact them directly and post an audio or video interview once we hear back.

So subscribe to this blog and stay tuned for more details on this.

In the meantime we will try and locate more details and post to this blog so we can make sure you have an equal opportunity to develop applications for the iPhone and not miss out on this opportunity.

Austin_Powers_Mike_Myers_as_Dr_Evil.jpgGot an idea to take over the world or maybe a simple idea for a biz program or a hip hop application-- think big and think iPhone demographic - now go make it happen and get you share of the loot$.
